Inspired by His Words

Better Than Life
I praise your Father, for who You are! Your loving kindness exceeds that of any human. You are good. You are beautiful. You are all the things right and true. In You and through You, all things take their shape. This world is Your creation, and You choose to keep the Earth turning on its axis. You bless us when we don’t deserve a blessing. Your love is better than life!
Consider your greatest desires. Think of all the dreams you have for your future. God is greater than anything else. Keep Him central in your life.
“Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You.”

Blessing for Walking with God
Give me strength Father to stand up to what I believe in and not just go along with the crowd. While I am in this world, as a Christian I am certainly not of it. I must guard my heart and walk in your ways. Protect me from those who would attempt to lead me astray, I ask. Even if that means I must endure persecution. I will walk with you God.
Those who are closest in your life will have have great influence on you. You will be blessed if you choose to walk in the counsel of the Godly rather than the ungodly.
“Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful.”

The Greatest Commandment
When the Lord was asked what the greatest commandment was, He did not evade the question. You answered clearly, Jesus. I am to love the Lord with all of my heart, soul, mind, and strength. There should be nothing left over when we are finished loving God. No crumbs I feed to the idols that crave my attention.
Where do you spend most of your time? Your money? Your attention? Are you loving the Lord with all of you heart, soul, mind, and strength.
“Jesus answered him, "The first of all the commandments is: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment.”

Love Covers Sin
All of my sins were nailed to the cross when Jesus died for me. Without grace, I am but filthy rags before a holy God. But through Christ, I am adopted as His daughter, forgiven. There is pride in me at times. Pride that resists forgiveness. Pride that says “I am right.” Lord, remind me of the multitude of my own sins that Your love covered through Jesus. Help me to love others as well.
Unforgiveness rarely hurts the other person as much as it hurts the person refusing to forgive. Love is at the heart of forgiveness.
Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs.

Loving My Enemies
Some of the Lord’s commands are easy to understand, such as taking care of widows and orphans. But some of them go against human nature. It’s easier to show mercy to those we love, but God tells us to love our enemies. He commands us to love those who are hard to love. Give me a love for the unlovable.
God loves you on your worst day just as much as He loves you when you are at your best. Extend grace to others. Practice unconditional mercy.
“For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so?”
Hope For The Future
Lord, I can’t see the future. I see only one piece of the puzzle at a time, but He can see the finished product. As I go about the day, I do not fear because I know He is in control. When things seem hopeless there is hope.
My hope is in God who says He knows the plans he has for me. I count on Him to see me through.
When a door closes in your life remember that God is in control, and he knows the plans He has for you. He always has your best interest at heart.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

The Cross Covers Sin
This is a fallen world. With one bite of fruit in the garden called Eden, we fell from grace. Sin entered the world. We were separated from our Creator. We turn from that garden scene to another called Calvary. What a gift! Grace with skin. Grace wore a crown of thorns and bled and died for mankind. Thank you, Jesus, for your grace.
The sin of one brought death to all mankind. The death of Another offers life. The cross of Christ covers that bite of forbidden fruit... and it covers your sin. Receive the blessing.
“For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.”

More than a Conqueror
The Word of God, states that I am more than a conqueror. I ponder these words. What do they mean? I am more than a conqueror. I am a winner. I am a chosen child of the Almighty God. I am a victor. I shall see the Lord one day. I have an abundant life and an eternal one. I am more than a conqueror and I shall walk in the Lord’s strength.
God doesn’t want His people to survive. He wants us to live abundant, joy-filled lives. He calls us more than conquerors.
“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”
